Description
One Night Stand: Bill Hicks is a comedian with a message. In his own words, he offers 'a message that is not heard very often ... but it's the truth'. Raw and outspoken, Hicks tells us alcohol and cigarettes are more harmful than marijuana. He also offers his view on the devil on records played backwards, kids who commit suicide after hearing Judas Priest material and he explains what causes sexual thoughts.
Description
Bill Hicks: Relentless: Outspoken and raw, not mincing words, Bill Hicks tells us that, just like smokers, non-smokers also die every day. He goes on to talk through what really happened during the 1990-1991 Gulf War, why drugs have done good things, wonders what kind of mood Jesus will be in if he decides to come back, and how the technology and money expended on war could have also been used to feed the poor of the world.
Description
Bill Hicks: Revelations: Bill Hicks was controversial, funny, and provocative. During this live performance in London he explodes the myth of the cowboy; finds specific aspects of British life odd; introduces Goat Boy, for whom there is no sexual activity that cannot be named; aims fiery admonitions at Government-sponsored disinformation; lobs verbal bombs at Fundamentalist Christians and all others who dislike sex, drugs, and rock and roll; and explores some extremely dark material about the terminally ill. Deliberately provocative--often out and out offensive--these pieces are beautifully written, exquisitely timed essays, continuing a ruthlessly honest thought process through to a logical conclusion.
Description
It's just a ride: A decade after his unfortunate demise, this film is a celebration of the comedy of Bill Hicks. The film is structured around the different strains of comedy in the Hicks repetoire, including sampling the best of his confrontational performance. He has been compared to peers like Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor for his uncompromising "take no prisoners" comedy with its strong political and social messages. Interviewees include a wide range of comedians who admired his work, high school friends, and his parents.
